I. Course Compass:
|
|
|
1. Go to
www.coursecompass.com and *login or **register as a student:
You will need: a valid
email address, the Course ID williams72756 and your Student Access
Code packet (purchased at the bookstore or on the website.)
**If you did not have a code last semester, answer NO when asked if
you have an account and you will be prompted to create one.
Login after you have registered.
*If you purchased a code last semester you already have an account,
so just login as you did last semester, click "enroll in another course" button,
and
enter the Course ID (above)

2.
Enter the course by clicking on Fall 2009 Intermediate
Algebra.
|
|
|
NOTE: In order to Work Off Campus you must run the Installation
Wizard:
(It is already installed in the Computer Center's open lab and in
the Library)
*Read and follow the on-screen instructions.
*Anytime you see a yellow bar across the top of a screen or box,
allow it to do what it wants - allow pop-ups, allow active x, etc.
*Install all of the components that it needs... you may already have
some of them but may need to update them.

3.
Click on the Chapter Contents button then click on
"How Do I Enter Answers?"
As quickly as possible, view the tutorial. You will not
actually enter anything, just watch it and read the explanation at
the bottom of each page.
|
|
|
4. Click on the
Do Homework button. The Homework appears in a separate window.
*Begin with section 2.1, notice in the chart that some
of the problems have videos of an instructor explaining the
concept. Watch a portion of one of these videos.
*Print Homework Assignment: (NOTE:
You will do this for each section of homework and turn it in with
your handwritten work). a) Select Question 1; b) Click on the
"print" button found below the “Help me Solve This” button; c)
Choose "print homework assignment" and click "print".
*View
some of the extra features:
a) Click on the "Textbook" button to see textbook pages online. In
the header you can arrow through the pages.
b) Try the View an Example button before working some of the
problems.
c) Try the Help Me Solve This button on one of the problems and
follow it through the steps.
d) After working a problem click the Similar Exercise button below
the workspace to work another problem like that one. This allows
you to practice as many similar exercises as necessary to gain the
needed skills.
e) Become familiar with how to use the special tools buttons at the
left side of the workspace. They are used to enter fractions,
exponents, etc.
*Close the Homework window by clicking on the x in the top
right corner.

5. Click on
the Chapter Contents link and register for the Tutor Center
*Click on the Tutor Center icon near the top of the page
*Click on the Registration Page link and provide the requested
information.

I. ANGEL
|

1.
Go to
www.npcc.edu - Students - ANGEL.
*Login (same as campus login) and click on the link for your
Intermediate Algebra course.
If the course does not appear on the
page, ask your instructor to enroll you.
|
|
|
2.
Click on the profile icon (left side of page -
looks like a person's head) to enter your
preferences and update your personal information.
Logout of ANGEL.
|
|
|
3. Click on "Resources" at the
top of the page and print the Syllabus.
The easiest way to print it is to copy and
paste it into a Word document |
|
|
4. Click on “Lessons” at the top of the page.
Click on the link for each of the following and print:

5.
Log out of ANGEL and Log Off the Campus Network.
|
|
|
Be sure
your name and class time are indicated at the top of this page and
turn it in to your instructor by the due date.
